Heliview buys Bell LongRanger

Richard travels to Florida to finalize the exciting purchase of a Bell 206L-1 LongRanger from Universal Air Services.

Richard will be in Florida, USA, at the beginning of August to finalize the purchase of this executive turbine-powered helicopter. The helicopter will be custom fitted with leather seats, air-conditioning and noise cancelling headsets. Fitted with an extensive list of Avionics, including HSI, Radar Altimeter, Instrument Landing System and GPS, that will ensure the highest level of safety.

The helicopter will be shipped to New Plymouth in a 40 ft container. Mark Saunders of Air Repair Taranaki will then be tasked with the job of commissioning the helicopter and putting it through its NZ certificate of airworthiness. Hopefully this will all be completed by mid-October. We will be fitting the helicopter with a stretcher kit so that it can act as a back-up to the Koala A119 Rescue Helicopter.

This helicopter will enable Heliview Taranaki to expand their scenic flight operations, while providing VIP transport for corporate customers. Below are some photos of the helicopter in Florida. Click on images to enlarge.
